Even with the internet and all the advances in navigation technology, there's something to be said for having a physical representation of your area in front of you. It helps you get a visual of the area you service and how large an area you can reasonably service.
A real estate agent has to spend a lot of time in the car - going to and from open houses and client meetings, carting buyers around to look at homes, etc. High gas prices have had an affect on everyone, but especially those in a mobile field like real estate. You can decide how big an area you want to work, what makes sense with your gas budget, etc by using a Florida zip code map to get an idea of how large your area is.
