Everyone knows that in real estate it's all about location. And that's often something that is dependent upon the tastes and personal preferences of the individual at hand. Some people may think the prime location is pool side. Others may think the prime location is surrounded by extensive gardening. Some people would choose oak trees over pecan. Some people would choose palm trees over Maple. Some people want gas lighting rather than the more generally used electric services. The options are endless so the argument about the "prime" location will continue forever more. There is no definitive answer, but there's always room for argument. So...let's talk about Arizona.

The State of Arizona is located in the Southwestern region of the US. It's capital and largest city is Phoenix followed by Tucson, Mesa, and Glendale. Arizona was the last of the contiguous states to be admitted to the union at number 48 on February 14, 1912. The most noted aspect of the state is its desert climate; boasting mild winters and the dry heat that some run from and others can't seem to live without! The year of 2006 marked a turning point in the population growth of the region with Arizona taking the number one spot in population growth away from the long time leader, Nevada, making Arizona the fastest growing state in the United States.

Arizona real estate is seen as desirable by many. It's landscapes and horizons are often noted as inspirational and have done their part to attract a large number of new residents in recent years (as well as tourists). Real estate is all about location and if Arizona has anything it's great location! It's one of the four corner states with easy access to: New Mexico, Utah, Nevada and California. It also shares an international border with Mexico. Arizona itself offers residents and visitors alike the Grand Canyon and the South Mountain Preserve as well as several beautiful state parks, national forests and monuments.

The one thing Arizona resort real estate in cannot claim is oceanfront property. George Strait made this quite clear with his hit song beginning, "I've got some ocean front property in Arizona. From my front porch you can see the sea...If you'll buy that I'll throw the golden gate in free." It's quite true that Arizona is never going to be able to offer ocean front property unless some sort of major catastrophe rearranges the map quite a bit, but WestStone has another new addition to the Arizonan resort repertoire that almost changes history. It didn't actually bring the ocean to Arizona, but Onyx Tower is definitely the first of its kind in Arizona history; resort living at its most exclusive.

Onyx Tower stands out from the rest. And it's not the sleek, urban design of the 26 story, 1 to 3 bedroom resort condo tower. It's simply the location; the most exclusive location available. In addition to claiming the prime location of Arizona with an even more sought after proximity to Phoenix and the vast amount of cultural and recreational opportunities available in the area, Onyx Tower is in the magical position of claiming "waterfront property" in Arizona. Now that's saying something considering this prime location just happens to be right smack dab in the middle of the Arizona desert.

Considering the definition of the resort as a place to relax and a place for recreation, Onyx Tower fills the bill completely with its waterfront views, waterfront activities, sky lounge filling two entire floors (the 15th and 16th if you want to check it out), a movie theatre, a billiards room, a fitness center, a fireside lounge, a high tech library, a media room, an infinity edge pool, spa, and lap pool. Onyx Tower also adds to its exclusivity by claiming close proximity to Sky Harbor Airport, Arizona State University, downtown Tempe, Scottsdale shopping, and a never ending amount of cultural, sports, and recreational events sponsored in nearby Phoenix. This is resort living, for sure.

WestStone Communities' (http://www.weststonecommunities.com) takes full advantage of the prime location of Arizona to offer another option for resort style living at its best in their Vantage community. Vantage's Tuscan inspired look and feel is evidence of WestStone Group of Companies' dedication to excellence in resort community living.

Vantage resort style community offers exemplary design that stands out in the seemingly effortless combination of architectural and community planning details. Vantage boasts just as many "extras" as Onyx (minus the waterfront feature, of course), but adds a few "extras" all its own. Vantage residents will find themselves in the most desirable zip code in the area with one of the rare opportunities to own their own view of the Ahwatukee foothills. Vantage has two spas, an outdoor entertaining area, a clubhouse with theatre, a fitness room, and an entertainment lounge. And that's not the end of the impressive list of fabulous extra that Vantage claims. Vantage residents also find themselves backed right up against the South Mountain Preserve with all 16,000 acres worth of recreational opportunities and views that are priceless.

Arizona apparently lacks almost nothing, except the ocean. But it's alright to admit it, sometimes the sun and the sand are all you need. Getting wet and salty is sometimes just overrated. And if you do crave that "beach fix," California is just a hop, skip and a jump away from the prime location of Arizona, the most popular state in the nation and the place to go for resort style living at its best; you can't argue with the numbers!
